Payment is accepted online by credit card only (VISA, MasterCard, AMEX). All payments will be processed in JPY and invoiced to the attendee in their native currency.

Abstract Submission

Abstract Submission

Both online abstract submission and Symposium registration will be managed on the EDAS system. Both the submitting author and ALL corresponsing authors MUST have an EDAS account to register the abstract.

Please use the ABSTRACT TEMPLATE (RTF FORMAT) when preparing your submission.

Abstracts can be submitted either for a contributing talk or for a poster presentation, but we accept at most three contributions from one participant. Abstract submission is open between 16 December 2015 and 31 January extended to 22 February 2016.

Submission Requirements

  • All abstracts must be written in English
  • The abstract text should be less than 1500 characters (including spaces), typeface: Arial, 12 pt, single space (please use the rtf template provided)
  • All abstracts must be uploaded in a .pdf format.
  • The abstract title must be brief (max. 2 lines allowed in “Title Case” format)
  • The abstract must represent original work and should be as informative as possible.
  • It is the author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any error in spelling, grammar or scientific content will be reproduced as typed by the author
  • Submitted abstracts can be seen, updated or deleted online within the whole period of the abstract submission
  • It is the submitting author’s responsibility to give the same list of authors both in the abstract file and in the online abstract submission form.
  • Correspondence regarding the abstracts such as confirmation of submission, notification of acceptance or rejection and instructions for presentation will only be sent to the corresponding author. It is his/her responsibility to forward the information to all co-authors
  • The presenting author is required to register for the Symposium and pay the registration fee (if not exempted) as a condition of presenting the paper
  • References are optional in the abstracts
  • Figures and tables are not allowed in the abstract


Decisions regarding acceptance will be made by mid-March 2016.

  1. Please check the Japanese MOFA site for a list of countries with visa exemptions.
  2. If you travel on a passport issued by a country NOT on this list, you will require documents issued in Japanese by the Organizing Committee. An English language letter of invitation WILL NOT suffice in most cases.
  3. We recommend you give yourself at least ONE MONTH to complete the visa process.
  4. To begin the process, complete registration and payment of registration fees, reserve accommodation and flights, and complete and return the visa information form in full [xls] [pdf].
